Villanueva To Make Tournament Debut

EDUARDO Villanueva will make his World Pool Championship debut in November after winning the third qualifying competition.

The event, which was held at the Star Billiards Center, Quezon City, Philippines, was the latest tournament for players trying to claim their place in the main event.

Villanueva proved successful after he defeated Japanese player Hisash Kusano in the final and will now line up in group 30, alongside Italian Fabio Petroni, American Charlie Williams and Apsi Chaniago of Indonesia.

The Filipino reached the last stage thanks to victories against Jussi Niemela (Finland), Kohei Inoue (Japan), Rodrigo Geronimo and Victor Arpilleda (both Philippines) and Imran Ibrahim (Indonesia).
