Another Chinese Taipei Player Triumphs

LU Hsun-chen has become the latest man to reach the main stages of the 2006 Philippines World Pool Championship.

Chinese Taipei player Lu (pictured right) reached the main event, which begins on Saturday, November 4 at the Philippine International Convention Center, with a 9-4 victory over home hope Israel Rota.

Lu will now take his place in Group 12 alongside American Rodney Morris, a semi-finalist in Kaohsiung in 2005, Enrique Rojas of Chile and German newcomer Joern Kaplan.

This will be the first time Lu has played in the World Championship and he earnt his spot with victories against Jonas Uhlin (Sweden), Yu King-chiu (Hong Kong), Hisash Kusano (Japan), Lu Hui-chan (TPE), Warren Kiamco (Philippines) and Rota.

Chinese Taipei are enjoying a fun run of results in the qualifying events and Lu follows countymen Nien Rong-chih and Hsia Hui-kai who had already made it into the tournament earlier in the week.
