World Pool Championship 2006 Is Under Way!
The 2006 Philippines World Pool Championship got underway today at 12 noon at the Philippines International Convention Center and defending champion Wu Chia-ching got off to the perfect start as hammered hapless German Sven Pauritsch 8-0 in the main TV arena.
Wu took advantage of some elementary errors from his opponent in the alternate break format match.
There were other wins today for qualifier Tomoo Takano of Japan who scored an 8-6 victory over dangerous Canada-based Filipino Edwin Montal and young Taiwanese Chang Jung-lin got off to a flyer as he white-washed Sweden's Tony Fransson.
